Ponte 16 warms up historic Macau

Macau’s first European-style integrated resort opened on Saturday in bitterly cold weather, when Ponte 16 welcomed thousands of eager visitors and VIPs through its doors. Inside, a cast of stars, including Taiwan’s David Tao and Hong Kong pop stars Stephy Tang and Tersa Fu, warmed things up.

Situated next to a ferry terminal linking the city with ports in China and within easy walking distance of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, Ponte 16 features a 5-star Sofitel hotel, with 389 rooms and a block of 19 VIP mansions, plus a 270,000 square foot gaming floor, with 150 tables and 320 slot machines. It is expected to bring a new lease of life to the old district of Macau.
