Venetian partners with Asian Indoor GamesThe Venetian Macau has signed on as the official headquarter hotel for the 2nd Asian Indoor Games to be held in Macau between October 26 and November 3 this year. The hotel will also host the Asian Indoor Games closing ceremony. “This coming July, MAIGOC will be organizing the warm-up events to the Asian Indoor Games, with the participation of English Premier League Champion Manchester United, and the support of our Official Partner The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel,” MAIGOC Chairman of Board of Directors Manuel Silvério said. “Together we will be receiving dignitaries from across the world during the Asian Indoor Games, and we are eager to demonstrate Macao’s hospitality.” Bill Weidner, president and COO of the Las Vegas Sands Corp, said of the partnership: “The 2nd Asian Indoor Games Macao 2007 will be one of the most exciting sporting events organized by the Macao SAR Government this year. Coupled with our upcoming Venetian Macao Cup, the NBA China Games 2007 and The Venetian Macao Tennis Showdown, Macao will soon be offering a wide variety of exciting and unique sporting and entertainment events and thus attracting visitors from throughout the region.” The Asian Indoor Games aims to encourage more Asian youths to participate in a wider variety of sports. Organized biennially, this second Asian Indoor Games will showcase 20 different types of sports activities, with athletes from 45 Asian countries expected to compete. |
