CTM launches 3G next weekPhil Green, CEO of CTM (Companhia de Telecomunicações de Macau) said the Macau telecommunications firm would launch its 3G mobile services in Macau next week, according to Macauhub.com. CTM has invested MOP$163 million in 3G, and intends to invest an additional MOP$400 million toward developing 3G applications. The company aims to attract an additional 30,000 customers with its new 3G offerings over the next year. CTM currently has 116,000 network users. China Unicom and Hutchison are also expected to launch 3G services soon. China Unicom will use the CDMA200 1X EV-DO platform, while CTM and Hutchison will use the WCDMA platform. |
