Paris in MacauYou'll feel like you've landed in France when you walk through the doors of Macau's latest French restaurant – Paris. The interior décor, inspired by local artist Konstantin Bessmerney, uses lots of red velvets, gold, mirrors and paintings in a style very much like “bourdoirs” in Paris back in the 1900s. “The boudoir represented what we nowadays call a waiting room,” explains restaurant owner, Dora Deparis. “Essentially it served champagne, there was a piano and a long coach (liseuse) and then music bands came in and played waltzes, tangos and Charleston. There was a lot of dancing.” Chef Serge Alain Gros serves fresh pastry and traditional French cuisine of onion soup, pork pate, tripes, and a special menu of desserts. Paris |
